We feel proud that we are born in Batal, Batal means vat + tal a area of bottom of wind. Chhoti kashi is another name for Batal which means a area where people are having a good knowlegde of Dharma,veda, shashtra, upnishad, mimansa,astrology etc. But these days time has changed a lot as only few people are believing in these real value. New generation does not know anything about their culture and heritage, all these things are new to them. Batalashware shivling is one of the famous temple in this area which is situated in batal village, it is 400 years old and very popular in solan district but unfortunately this is not coming in heritage.

Batal Village is Also Famous For Astrologers
Batal village is also famous for astrologers and panditai, due to which it is called Choti kashi as and long ago, the Shastri's and Pandit of the villages who came to this Village from other places after studies in sanskrit and karam-kand, they have to appear before the old Pandits of the village and in case they could not be able to satisfy the Pandits, they had to return for further studies without going to his own house, in case he intended to be a great Pandit of the village.Late S/Shri Saia, Ram Chand, Sudama Ram Shyan, Madan Lal, pandits were famous for the panditai and astrology.
Batal village in Himachal Pradesh is beautiful village under the blessisng of His Holiness Lord Lutru Mahadev at Arki. I am proud of my village. All the inhabitants of my village are having very good relations and cooperative. Dushera is the main festival of the village where main attractions of the festival are, Kabaddi, Voley Ball matches, children games, Shooting of the pitcher by the famous shooter of the area and Ravan Dahan and night programmes. pds
